Apple recently introduced new laptop models, including MacBook Neo, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro. However, customers in the United Kingdom and European Union will notice an important change. Apple no longer includes a charger inside the box with these devices.

This policy affects several European countries such as Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. Previously, Apple started this approach with the base 14-inch MacBook Pro model. Now the company has expanded the policy to more MacBook devices released this week.

Buyers who need a power adapter must purchase one separately. Customers can add the charger during checkout or buy it later from Apple stores. As a result, users may need to spend extra money to charge their new laptop.

Meanwhile, Apple still sells its official adapters as separate accessories. For example, the MacBook Neo works with Apple’s 20W USB-C Power Adapter. In addition, the high-performance 16-inch MacBook Pro supports Apple’s 140W USB-C Power Adapter. These chargers remain available through Apple’s official website and retail stores.

However, Apple follows a different strategy in other regions. In countries like the United States, the company still includes a charger inside the MacBook box. For instance, the MacBook Neo ships with the 20W USB-C power adapter without additional cost. Similarly, the 16-inch MacBook Pro includes the 140W charger in the package.

Despite this change, Apple continues to include charging cables with every MacBook worldwide. Each device comes with either a USB-C cable or a MagSafe 3 charging cable. Therefore, users only need a compatible power adapter to begin charging their laptop.

Apple continues adjusting packaging decisions across different markets. Consequently, MacBook buyers in the UK and EU must prepare to purchase a charger separately when buying a new device.
